In the life of a writer sometimes lots of things happen all at once (and sometimes nothing happens at all). Here is my mini blog: I jot down my thoughts whenever I get a free minute.
Went to the opening night of the new, 'Swan House Gallery' in Harwich. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and even came away with a couple of very nice pieces of art. I highly recommend a visit to both the gallery and the craft shop next door.
On the 3rd of November The Swan House Gallery, 14 Kings Head Street, Harwich opens it’s doors to the public. Already the home to Home Grown Crafts, a craft shop re-located from Dovercourt High St. Husband and wife team and business partners Roger and Katrina Olive, are writing a new chapter in the history of one of the oldest pubs in Harwich. This 15th Century grade II listed building, some say the second oldest house in Harwich, will display art work for sale by notable artist from Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. Starting on Monday with ‘COAST’, the first in a series of exhibitions exploring art inspired by life on and around the East coast. Showing work by Mel King, Judith Lockie, Sue Long, Elizabeth Morris, Linda Richardson, Daphne Sandham, Simon Sharman & David Thomas. Some of whom are also former Royal Academy students. Work for sale between £20 - £700. For information on future exhibitions and events please feel free to email the gallery. (original story www.echo-news.co.uk)
Just found out the Historical Novel Society are holding their annual North American event in Denver, Colorado next year. Absolutely love Denver but was only there last year. Oh, what to do...
I always try to get to London when Bernard is in the country. I was fortunate enough to catch his talk on his latest book and the exploits of his awesome character, Uthred.
Must stop researching at some point and actually start writing something! Rather worryingly, completely changed direction whilst researching material for a book I had in mind.
Married today at Hedingham Castle. A beautiful sunny day, amidst our closest friends and family. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.
